A toast to The Halving. Raise a glass. #846,985.
What begins as a trip down memory lane for some will hopefully serve as an exciting introduction to a recent debut in the Bitcoin Collectibles market. Today, I review the latest collaboration in Bitcoin Collectibles: Bare Wood Spirits and Bitcoin Trading Cards (BTCTC) have joined forces to release a new line of Bitcoin Bourbon.

ICYMI — The story began last November in Las Vegas, Nevada at Unconfiscatable 2023. Tone Vays, the man of the hour and host of the conference, found himself featured on not only a limited edition (#/100) Bitcoin Trading Card (BTCTC) but also a limited edition (#/21) tequila bottle (Bare Wood Spirits).
For those that don’t know Tone well, the back of his Unconfiscatable 2023 Bitcoin Trading Card provides a fantastic description.

How did Tone find himself with his face plastered everywhere? The answer lies with passionate Bitcoin artists and entrepreneurs. Witnessing the excitement around this collaboration, I had a feeling these creators wouldn’t stop there.

Following the success in Las Vegas and the impressive community response to the limited edition premium Tequila bottles, Jonas, founder of Bare Wood Spirits, felt inspired to do more. Just around the corner from Unconfiscatable, and looking five months ahead to April 2024, was a Bitcoin event the whole world will one day celebrate like the Olympics or World Cup: The Halving.
For those unfamiliar, The Halving is a significant Bitcoin event occurring every 210,000 blocks (approximately every four years, with blocks mined roughly every 10 minutes). During this event, the Bitcoin block reward — miners’ reward for successfully mining a block — is cut in half.
We’ve come a long way from the original block reward set at 50 Bitcoin.
When we transitioned from the Fourth Epoch (2020–2024) to the Fifth Epoch (2024–eta. 2028), the block reward decreased from 6.25 Bitcoin to 3.125 Bitcoin. The Halving significantly impacts the market, with Bitcoin business-owners eyeing Bitcoin’s ~$64,000 valuation on the Halving date, April 19, 2024.
Fortunately for us collectors, Alladan, Founder of Bitcoin Trading Cards and Lead Artist, designed a scene that beautifully captures the essence of this event. Beloved by the BTCTC community, the design has vast potential — something I’m excited to explore further in the future.

All of this proof-of-work and craftsmanship led to an incredibly special Halving Collectible that celebrates and welcomes Bitcoin’s Fifth Epoch. As anticipated, upon release, Jonas’ DM’s were flooded with reservations.

Jonas’ Bare Wood Spirits is launching Bitcoin Bourbon, featuring a patented aging process with a wood rod that runs through the cork into the barrel, and is exposed to the air at the top for continuous aging, akin to Bitcoin’s hodling concept. The line will release up to 256 bottles annually, possibly collaborating with Bitcoin artists for limited edition bottles. Jonas, shared that…
“[he] decided to create this line… as a way to hopefully orange-pill people in the spirits space.”
The Bare Wood Spirits Halving Edition Bitcoin Bourbon, designed to capture the thrill of ripping open a pack, include 21 “regular” bottles and one golden one-of-one bottle, all sealed in individual boxes. Debuted just eight days ago live on Bitcoin Trading Card’s Rip ‘n Sip #7 stream and priced at 1,000,000 sats or 0.01 BTC (~$700 as of June 7, 2024) each, only five remain available to be reserved.
To order, contact Jonas on Telegram at @jonasbuxton. Celebrating Bitcoin entrepreneurship and culture, these bottles offer a unique way to learn more about Bitcoin and connect with the community.
